I got some patterned paper the other day, I was determined to move out of my comfort zone and make a card totally different from what I am used to.
So here is the end result.
Patterned paper from SEI
Carts used: Sweethearts, Designers Calendar, Pagoda, Walk In My Garden
I had my husbands parents in mind as I made this. They have been married for nearly 61 years and I wanted to celebrate that this Valentine's day - which is why this is not your typical red and white or black and red or white colour combo.

It was time consuming to make, tedious to glue all the bits down, and something is still missing after all that
Otherwise I am very pleased with the end result, just wish I could put my finger on what is always missing in my cards, I thought it was the lack of patterned papers, but that cannot be it.
If you have any suggestions please leave a comment

Thank you so much for looking

Coaster Tiles

Smudged this one cuz I underestimated how long it would take the Staz On ink to dry
Let it dry overnight on the tiles!!!
I also put it on the edges to finish the look

Thinking of You stamp
Black Staz On ink
let dry over night before putting anything else on - like Mod Podge or sealer!

4 inch tiles from the home reno store (free for the asking)

5 layers of Mod Podge
5 layers of sealer
Cork (from giant roll) glued on back with construction glue

Hello Friend Card

Made this last night but was having so much internet problems I could not load it till now.
Used Beyond Birthdays cart
Stampin up stamp and water colour pencil crayons
CuttleBug embossing folder - used it in my old sizzix machine, I cannot get the pressure correct, so the paper tore
I used my Provo Craft mini sewing machine to stitch the blue layer to the yellowy one
Inked the edges so it would stand out
Had some green ribbon that matched it well enough so I stapled it on

It started as a challenge card but ended up different so I did not enter it
I did hand deliver it to a good friend this morning though!

2009 Gift Tags

Made these wonderful tags for presents Christmas 2009
Winter Woodland

Look closely here at Greetings
See it?
the 'ET' is not welded.
I do not know if PC knows this or not and no idea how to go about telling them

2 inches on white with black background
Kevin coloured each with pencil crayons
Realized we could not write easily on the black the recipients names, so out of white I cut letters and shapes to help
Punched holes and added ribbon

Candle

Used vinyl and glass etching cream to make this
Gave this one to my (step) sons girlfriend for Christmas
Made 2 others but forgot to take their pictures.
Each one was unique
Carefully cleaned the glass with alcohol
Covered the entire glass in the vinyl shapes
To ensure I left no fingerprints I had DH put his hand in the glass to hold hold it still

Left the cream on for about 25 minutes
The cream was thicker than I had expected and very simple to use
Next time I do these I won't leave a border
Don't know what I was thinking when I left it
The ribbon is ugly and was just put on to represent it being a Christmas gift :)
Filled the jar with flat glass marbles and placed a wonderfully scented candle inside

Glass Lazy Suzan

Made this for my Step Mom who really wanted a lazy Suzan for her table.
When I found this I knew it would be perfect!
Used From My Kitchen
the plate (Lazy Suzan) is 12 inches so i made a 12 inch circle, next I made a smaller circle for a guide, then placed the images I wanted along the guide, deleted the guide circle. cut the image out, removed the positives, had hubby clean the glass and scrub it down and transferred it all over then etched it all and left on for about 25 minutes

Thank you to every one who has ever posted their project along with directions, that was the only way i was brave enough to try this.

Gave it to my step-mom for Christmas and she just loved it, had to tell her I etched it though, she thought we bought it that way!

Christmas Banner
